2 Burr Ridge Firms Seek Police Presence: Reports
Officers were alerted to situations where a shareholder was voted out and an employee was fired, police say.
BURR RIDGE, IL — In the last few days, Burr Ridge police have been called about situations where a company voted out a shareholder and another one fired an employee, according to the department's reports. Here is the information from the latest police blotter:
- Production Plus Technologies, 124 Tower Drive, notified police about 4 p.m. Feb. 25 that the company's board was voting out a shareholder, who was being informed electronically because he lives in Indiana. The business is hiring private security for the next few weeks and requested an extra patrol. The company described the shareholder's car to police. Production Plus is an event management company.
- The manager at Fusion Systems, 7033 High Grove Blvd., asked police to stand by in the parking lot while he fired an employee about 2 p.m. Feb. 27. The fired employee left without any problems.
- A Mars employee found a 5-year-old girl walking near 79th and South Madison streets about 7 a.m. Feb. 25. That is near the Mars plant. The girl said she left to find a lost toy while her parents were sleeping. She was returned to her home on Garfield Avenue.
- Southbound traffic signs were obstructed by snow about 6:30 a.m. Feb. 26 near 79th and Madison streets. To prevent accidents, an officer used his squad car's snow brush to clear them.
- Police officers assisted firefighters responding to a fire alarm at Gower Middle School, 7941 Madison St., about 9 a.m. Feb. 26. The alarm was set off by burnt food in the cafeteria.
- The driver of a 2011 BMW slid off the street about 10:30 a.m. Feb. 26 in the 6100 block of South County Line Road. The car went up an embankment and into a fence at Katherine Legge Memorial Park.
- A resident reported a silver 2008 Ford was unoccupied and parked at the curb about 2:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at Carriage Way Drive and County Line Road. The Ford was on a jack and its rear passenger wheel was removed. No note was left on the car. It is unknown when the owner will return. The car was legally parked and not blocking traffic.
- A house was burglarized between 2:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. Feb. 26 on Carriage Way Drive. The back door of the attached garage was forced open. Cash and jewelry were stolen.
- An officer found a man who appeared to be homeless in his parked 2000 Ford about 1 a.m. Feb. 27 at Walker Park in the 7400 block of Wolf Road. The man was able to start his car to stay warm and refused any help. He said he would leave the parking lot in a few hours.
- A man was seen checking doors after midnight Dec. 27 at Power Solutions International, 7850 S. Grant St. Driving a gray Hyundai, the man was described as skinny, white and wearing a black jacket.
- Compass Trucking, 15W580 N. Frontage Road, said a 2018 Great Dane trailer had been sitting in its parking lot for more than three weeks. On Feb. 27, the business called the owner and found the trailer had been stolen in Addison a few months ago. The trailer was released to an insurance company.
