2 Burr Ridge Village Hall Positions Axed
Officials expect to save $60,000 a year with the move.

BURR RIDGE, IL – Burr Ridge is cutting two clerical positions in the administration department, with an expected savings of $60,000 a year.
At Monday's Village Board meeting, Trustee Guy Franzese asked whether the two administrative assistant positions were occupied.
Village Manager Evan Walter confirmed they were, to which Franzese asked, "So these people will be terminated?"

"Their positions would be dissolved," Walter said.
In proposing the change, Walter said employees are doing "more with less" at Village Hall. He attributed that to the village's investments in technology, among other things.

He called the two positions in question "redundant." The freed-up money, he said, could be used for investments in the police and public works departments.
Mayor Gary Grasso said Walter comes with a lot of credibility with such proposals.
"The way he explained it to me, I think it's fine," Grasso said.
The Village Board voted unanimously to eliminate the two positions. Trustee Anita Mital was absent.
