3 Workplace Incidents: Burr Ridge Cops

A note with Ecuadoran poetry makes a store employee feel uncomfortable, report says.

BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent days, Burr Ridge police have handled three incidents dealing with workplace issues. Here is information from the reports:

  • A man gave a female employee at Brookhaven Marketplace, 100 Burr Ridge Parkway, a note with a quote from an Ecuadoran poet about 6 p.m. Oct. 2. This was the second time the man was in the store that day, making the employee feel uncomfortable. An officer left a message for the man to say he was no longer welcome in the store. The manager said the store would send a certified no-trespass letter to the man.
  • A manager at a business at 144 Tower Drive told police that when a man was informed he would not be offered employment Oct. 6, he got upset and said he would come over and speak to the manager in person, frightening the manager. When he was interviewed, the man told police he was not going to the business and admitted to police he got upset over the lack of a job offer because times were tough. He said he would not contact the business and would apply elsewhere.
  • The owner of Nation Premium Logistics, 16W475 S. Frontage Road, reported Oct. 5 that one of his semi-trucks had been stolen. He said the driver would not return the truck because the company owes him about $100. The business told the man it would get him the money in two weeks, but the driver stopped answering his calls. The officer told the owner that it was a civil matter and referred him to the circuit clerk's office.
