4 Neighbor Disputes In Burr Ridge
Disagreements are over online discussions, loud music, dogs and lights.
BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police have dealt with four neighbor disputes in recent days — differences involving online discussions, backyard lights, loud music and dogs. Here is information from the latest police reports:
- A resident in the 10S700 block of Jackson Street said she was concerned after another participant on the Nextdoor forum called her a socialist because he believed she got his posts removed from the site. She wanted the incident documented and said she would no longer use the forum. Nextdoor is a network of neighborhood discussion websites.
- A resident in the 100 block of Surrey Lane complained about backyard lights from a house in the 100 block of Carriage Way shining into his home shortly before 8 p.m. April 4. The neighbor said the lights were on for her children and were turned off before 8:30 p.m. No ordinances were being violated. The first resident said he understood.
- A resident complained about a neighbor's "very, very, very loud music" about 5 p.m. April 7 in the 600 block of Grant Court. An officer heard the music, but said it was at an appropriate level.
- A resident in the 7300 block of Park Avenue complained that dogs belonging to both of his neighbors in the same block frequently run in his yard, and it happened again at 2 p.m. April 5. An officer spoke to one of the neighbors, who said she would keep her dog out of the resident's yard. The officer was unable to contact the other neighbor and left a business card requesting a phone call.
