5 Police Calls To Burr Ridge Businesses

In one case, a building contractor says a resident did not pay for work, report says.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police answered calls to businesses in recent days. Here is information from police reports:

  • A representative of Happy Homes Inc., a building contractor, told police Nov. 11 that a resident on Sylvan Glen Court had not paid him for $2,200 in work that he did in September. The work was done after a verbal agreement. The police referred the contractor to an attorney because it was a civil matter. An officer notified the resident that the contractor had come by. The resident promised to try to resolve the issue.
  • Staff from Life Time Fitness, 601 Burr Ridge Parkway, called police about 7 p.m. Nov. 11 about someone who became upset and was cursing at employees after he was asked to get out of the hot tub because of social distancing requirements. The customer left without any problems. The staff canceled his membership.
  • Two officers spoke with an employee of Mainstreet Siding and Roofing on Nov. 13 in the 7600 block of Woodland Lane. The employee said he was seeing whether neighbors wanted work done while co-workers were doing roofing on Ridgewood Lane. The officers warned the person for soliciting without a permit.
  • Laboratory Buildings Inc., 166 Shore Drive, informed police Nov. 5 that it identified two fraudulent checks with the company's account numbers on them. The payments were stopped and neither the company nor the bank is out any money.
  • An employee of Daugert Chemical Co., 150 Harvester Drive, reported Nov. 5 that three of its checks were stolen from the post office and forged. The matter was referred to the postal inspector.
