BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent days, Burr Ridge police have responded to a number of neighbor complaints, including about go-karts, minibikes, fishing, noise and idling trucks. Here is information from the reports:

  • Police responded to a neighbor's complaint about go-karting in the 10S200 block of Vince Street about 6:30 p.m. May 12. An officer saw two "very nice" gas-powered go-karts on that block. The officer spoke with a person who said he and a friend had been riding them earlier. The officer warned the person not to ride them on public streets. The person said he understood and would not do so.
  • A resident in the Savoy Club retirement community complained May 12 that children from the Burr Oaks South Subdivision were fishing in the Savoy Club Pond, which had been an ongoing problem. An officer spoke with youths from Greenbriar Court who were outside but denied fishing at Savoy Club. The officer informed them that Savoy Club was private property.

  • A resident in the 100 block of Chestnut Hills Circle complained May 14 about people riding motorized minibikes on the street and walking on private property to get to a lake to fish. The people agreed they wouldn't ride the minibikes on Chestnut Hills in the future, and they agreed to stay on public walking paths when going to the lake at Harvester Park.
  • A resident in the 8400 block of Meadowbrook Drive complained May 14 about the noise from trucks idling all day in the parking lot of 16W485 S. Frontage Road. Two officers checked the area and spotted no idling trucks. The resident was asked to call Village Hall about the issue with the trucks parking on the private lot.

A person at the Burr Ridge house said he would turn off the speaker on his patio. An officer could hear no music from the front of the house.
