8 Burr Ridge Calls About Suspicious People: Cops

In one instance, a woman is standing on a resident's property and staring at the homeowner, report says.

BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent weeks, Burr Ridge police have answered a number of calls about suspicious people. Here is the information from the reports:

  • A resident in the 10 block of Ridge Farm Road told police about 1 p.m. Dec. 5 that a woman was standing on her property staring at her. Officers spoke with the woman, who said she was waiting for her ex-husband to return home. The officers told the woman her ex-husband no longer wants her on the property. She said she understood.
  • A woman at the Marriott hotel in Burr Ridge, 1200 Burr Ridge Parkway, told police a man in his 20s sits in the parking lot every day for about 20 minutes in his black BMW four-door sedan with heavily tinted windows and then leaves. After he leaves, he parks on Burr Ridge Parkway for a minute with his window down next to the hotel. She was not sure whether he is watching someone or cars in the lot. She requested an extra patrol.
  • A teen was seen standing near a car in a woman's driveway about 12:30 a.m. Dec. 10 on Deer Path Trail. She said he was wearing a black jacket, white track suit pants and a brown cap. The teen then ran east on Deer Path toward County Line Road. Officers searched the area, but could not find the teen.
  • A 9-year-old called police at 8 p.m. Dec. 10 that she saw somebody outside the home on security cameras in the 15W600 block of 74th Street. It turned out to be her mother on the deck.
  • A man was seen about 4:30 a.m. Dec. 15 near the Burr Ridge sign at Burr Ridge Parkway and County Line Road. He said he was fine and that he was waiting for friends to pick him up to go to Chicago. He decided to walk home to Ridgepoint Drive because it was too cold to keep waiting. He did not wish to talk anymore and ended the conversation.
  • A caller told police about 8:30 a.m. Dec. 9 that the driver of a 2004 Mercedes-Benz was driving in the 100 block of Carriage Way and pulling into driveways. Police found that it was a father teaching his daughter how to drive.
  • A resident in the 8600 block of Crest Court called police about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12 to report that a person wearing a brown jacket was at his front door and walked around his house. Police confirmed that UPS had just delivered a package.
  • A resident in the 8400 block of Arrowhead Farm Drive told police Dec. 17 that a white van or SUV had been following him and driving past his house numerous times over the last week. He also said seven letters he had received from the IRS were partially open in his mailbox.
