Aggressive Dogs, Snapped Poles: Burr Ridge Police

Police get two reports of scary dogs in recent days.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police have received two reports of aggressive dogs in recent days and responded to a semi-truck that caused the snapping of two utility poles, according to the latest reports. Here is information from the Burr Ridge police blotter:

  • A resident called police to report that a German shepherd ran into the street at her dog walker March 20 in the 8700 block of Wedgewood Drive. It is an ongoing problem. The police told the resident to have the dog walker make a report.
  • A woman reported at 7 p.m. March 21 that her fiance's Chinese crested dog bit her right leg as she was walking on the sidewalk in the 7400 block of Wolf Road. The bite punctured her skin, but she refused medical help.
  • A semi-truck driver was driving in the 7800 block of Hamilton Avenue about 2:30 p.m. March 23 when the top of his trailer caught the telephone wires that cross the street, snapping two poles in half.
  • A mother tracked her daughter's phone to the 8600 block of Crest Court about 2:30 a.m. March 20. She did not want to report her daughter missing and left the area. A short time later, an officer found the girl, who said she was visiting a friend. She agreed to go home.
  • A police officer spoke with a manager at SAIA LTL Freight, 15W460 N. Frontage Road, March 20 about the measures the business has taken to keep its workers safe from the coronavirus. The manager said the company follows the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. SAIA has staggered start and lunch times to keep workers from congregating.
  • A boy was picked up by police about 12:30 p.m. March 23 in the 15W300 block of 72nd Street after he pounded on a door, refused to leave the property and obstructed his identification. The boy was taken to the police station, where his father got him.
  • A person reported to police about 11:30 p.m. March 24 that her co-worker was found dead in their room at Extended Stay America, 15 W. 122nd St. The DuPage County coroner was notified.
