AMI Welcomes - Joe Bauer - Bass / Cello
AMI located in Clarendon Hills, Downers Grove, St Charles, & Geneva, IL - all instruments, ages, styles, & levels
The American Music Institute (AMI) proudly welcomes Joe Bauer to its faculty. Mr Bauer is currently available on Tuesdays at AMI’s Clarendon Hills & Downers Grove Campuses, as well as in-home lessons within a 5mi radius from campuses. He brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to AMI’s Strings program, inspiring students of all ages and skill levels.
Joe Bauer holds a Master of Music in String Performance from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Music in Double Bass Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He is a tenured member of Quad City Symphony Orchestra, a former Lecturer at Southern Illinois University, and a past Fellow with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
As an educator, Joe has experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. His students have been accepted into leading music programs, including the Berklee College of Music. His teaching philosophy centers on building a strong technical foundation that enables expressive and nuanced sound production. He emphasizes the physical mechanics of string playing, posture, bow control, and left-hand technique, guiding students to develop both control and musical freedom.
