WILLOWBROOK, IL – An Aurora man was arrested this week in a mass shooting that resulted in one death and 22 injured at the Juneteenth celebration in an unincorporated area near Willowbrook and Burr Ridge, authorities said.
Anthony Mothershed, 19, was charged with one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm in the direction of another person and one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, both felonies.
Authorities did not say whether they believed others were involved in the June 18 shooting. It occurred early in the morning at the strip mall at the southwest corner of Route 83 and Honeysuckle Rose Lane.

On Friday, a DuPage County judge granted prosecutors' request to keep Mothershed in jail.
"A gathering of hundreds of people is no place for illegal guns, and my office stands ready to file the appropriate charges supported by evidence against anyone accused of behavior such as alleged in this case," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement.
The Sheriff's Office said the investigation continues.
