Bakersfield Executive Chef Turns Up Heat at Five Seasons Burr Ridge

Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Burr Ridge derives its name from its five-in-one features: it’s a tennis and racquet club, a fitness club, a swim club, a dining and social club and a day spa.

And on Wednesday, October 21st it became a culinary clinic as well, with one of the region’s foremost chefs offering tips and tasty dishes during the club’s latest “Cooking with Chef” installment.

Patrick Cassata, General Manager and Executive Chef at Bakersfield in Westmont, whipped up delectable delights as he led a two-hour session at the club, 6901 S. Madison.

Cassata, who in 2012 appeared on Fox’s hit television show, “Hell’s Kitchen,” starring Gordon Ramsay, has carved an indelible mark on the culinary field. At Relish in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, he honed a “make everything from scratch” mentality and a passion for nouvelle cuisine that he gained from his mentor, Chef Ron Blazek. His other restaurants have included 10 West in Naperville and Eclectic restaurant in Barrington.

Among other accomplishments, Cassata served as Executive Chef for Wheaton College, where he led a culinary team of 45 in preparing 35,000 meals weekly. In 2012, Princeton Review selected the college #1 for “Best Campus Food.”
