Bored Driver, Tennis Scofflaws: Burr Ridge Cops

BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent days, Burr Ridge police have dealt with a bored driver, tennis players flouting the stay-at-home order, a stray pit bull and a lost wallet, among other things. Here is information from the latest Burr Ridge police blotter:

• Police received a report of a suspicious car driving up and down streets about 11 p.m. April 18 in the area of the 8100 block of Greenbriar Court. The driver of the car said he was with his friends driving out of boredom. His friends had run away upon the first officer's arrival. The officer told the driver not to alarm neighbors by driving up and down streets and to return home before curfew.
• An officer saw two people playing tennis about 2:30 p.m April 18 at Harvester Park. The officer told the two about the stay-at-home order. They left without any problems.
• An officer saw two people about to play tennis about 10:30 a.m. April 19 at Stevens Park, 8555 Walredon Ave. The officer told the two about the stay-at-home order. They left without any problems.
• Lukas A. Allen, 22, was arrested about 5 p.m. April 18 near Carriage Way and County Line Road on charges of DUI and failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle. According to a police report, Allen's car struck a parked vehicle and he attempted to drive away.
• Stelle Corp., 16W 485 S. Frontage Road, Suite 222, informed police April 16 that two contractors had not returned equipment after their leases ended. The police said it was a civil matter.
• Four officers helped form a parade for a birthday celebration for a resident at 3 p.m. April 17 on Elm Street. In another instance, three officers took part in a parade about 1 p.m. April 19 near Circle Drive and Forest Hill Road. Yet another birthday parade was shortly after 1 p.m. April 22 near 82nd and South Madison streets.
• An officer saw a white and tan pit bull running loose about 1 p.m. April 18 near 83rd Street and South County Line Road. The dog ran into the woods, and police were unable to find it.
• Employees at Falco's Pizza, 16W 561 S. Frontage Road, found a wallet a few weeks ago. The business reported the discovery of the lost property April 18. An officer tried to contact the owner, but was unsuccessful. The wallet was placed in the Burr Ridge Police Department's property control.
• A guest at the Marriott hotel, 1200 Burr Ridge Parkway, was extremely intoxicated and damaged his room about 2 a.m. April 19. Because of his drunken state, he agreed to be taken to the hospital in Hinsdale for detoxification.
• Burr Ridge officers helped the Hinsdale Police Department and other agencies after a white 2019 Durango sped away from a Hinsdale officer and then crashed. The driver ran away. The suspect was eventually found hiding in the brush near Interstates 294 and 55 and was taken into custody.
• A car or some other object struck a light pole at Burr Oak and Woodland lanes about 2:30 p.m. April 20, causing damage near the base.
• An officer was on hand for a meeting of the Burr Ridge Plan Commission at 7 p.m. April 20 at Village Hall, 7660 S. County Line Road. He was there to enforce social distancing at the meeting, which was open to the public. No one attended.
• Police were informed that a dog inside a car with the windows up did not look good about 11:30 a.m. April 21 at Loyola Center for Health, 6800 N. Frontage Road. The officer saw the car leaving the parking lot and the dog appeared to be in good health.
• A resident required assistance with being locked out of her car about 11:30 a.m. April 21. An officer informed her that the village has suspended lockout service, given the coronavirus pandemic. He referred the woman to a locksmith.
• An officer found a stolen car about 9 p.m. April 21 at Spring Hill Suites, 15W 090 N. Frontage Road. The 2013 Toyota was stolen in Chicago.
