Burr Ridge-area resident wins national title at the Fall North American Bridge Championships
Ralph Katz of Burr Ridge, Ill., claimed victory in the Baze Senior Knockout event.

North American Bridge Championships (NABCs), one of the 15 championship-level events held in Orlando, Fla., from Nov. 24 to Dec. 4.
This is Katz’s 76th first-place NABC title. Members of the team, pictured left to right, included Nick Nickell of New York, N.Y.; Bob Hamman of Dallas, Texas; Bart Branley of Dallas, Texas; Eric Kokish of Montreal, Canada; Eric Rodwell of Clearwater Beach, Fla.; Jeff Meckstroth of Clearwater Beach, Fla.; and Ralph Katz.
The NABCs are held three times a year across the U.S. and Canada to bring together players of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, with opportunities for everyone to play daily from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The 2017 Spring NABCs will be held in Kansas City, Mo., from March 9 to 19.
