The Burr Ridge Police Department received a report of a residential burglary June 29, 2020 at approximately 2:30 pm in the 100 block of Clover Meadow.

The resident was in another area of the complex and saw three males enter her home through an unlocked front foor. When she went to talk to them, they left saying they were from a carpet cleaning company, and were at the wrong address. When the resident went inside, she noticed cash and jewelry were taken from her residence.

The offenders left in a silver Ford Escape with no front license plate and the rear license plate covered with plastic to obstruct the plate (Pictures attached).

The offenders/vehicle in this incident are believed to have comitted similar crimes in area suburbs. In one, the offenders distracted the resident with a ruse that they were from the town's water department. With the victim distracted, two other offenders entered the house and stole property.

We ask residents to be alert for this vehicle travelling in the area. If you see this car, please call 9-1-1 immediately. Do not take any action by yourself.

Please remember to lock your doors, including car doors, and do not keep your keys or key fob inside your car. If you have a house alarm, set it, even if you are only leaving for a short time.

No Village Employee will need to enter your home to "check your water", "Check for COVID", or take you into your backyard to "look at trees." DO NOT LET A STRANGER INTO YOUR HOME.
