Burr Ridge CycleBar Holds Fundraiser For Local Woman

The Burr Ridge CycleBar recently sponsored a class in honor of a Willow Springs woman diagnosed with breast cancer.

BURR RIDGE, IL — The Burr Ridge CycleBar recently sponsored a class in honor of a Willow Springs woman diagnosed with breast cancer. According to instructor Megan Wenstrup, the CycleBar sponsors a CycleGiving class each month where the payment for the class is donated to a charity or organization. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, they chose to dedicate the class to Kacey Bourdage.

Bourdage, 29, is a rider at the Burr Ridge location and she has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Wenstrup, a friend of Bourdage's, said the studio decided to dedicate the breast cancer fundraiser to her, and raise money to defray the costs of her extensive treatment and recovery.

"She is an amazing woman who has an incredible, positive spirit, despite the aggressive plan of action [for the cancer]," Wenstrup said.

Another fundraiser is planned for Bourdage on Nov. 24 in Elmhurst. The event, Boozin' For Bourdage, will be held at HB Jones, 551 S. York St., in Elmhurst. All wristband ticket proceeds will go toward Bourdage's medical costs. If you would like to attend or donate, you can do so at the event website.
