Burr Ridge Developer Pulls Plan After Setback
The village's Plan Commission unanimously rejected the proposed subdivision last week.

BURR RIDGE, IL – A Burr Ridge developer on Monday withdrew a proposal for a townhome development hours before the Village Board was set to vote on it.
McNaughton Development had proposed a 15-unit development on vacant land southeast of Burr Ridge Parkway and Bridewell Drive. Villas of Lakeside Pointe would have been next to the Marriott hotel and another McNaughton subdivision, Lakeside Pointe.
In an interview Tuesday, John Barry of McNaughton described the withdrawal as "just a business decision." He said the company did not intend to come back with a revised proposal.

In an email to the village Monday, Barry said he and the firm's owner, Paul McNaughton, arrived at the decision after much discussion over the weekend.
Last week, the Plan Commission unanimously rejected the proposal. It said the subdivision would have been too dense and that the architecture and the width of the proposed road were inappropriate.
