Burr Ridge Gas Station Robbed: Police

BURR RIDGE, IL — An employee of Shell gas station, 16W601 S. Frontage Road, told police that a man punched him in the face and forcefully took a bag from him containing 24 packs of Newport cigarettes, according to a police report.

The incident happened about 3:30 a.m. last Saturday. The man left as a passenger in an older burgundy and gray SUV with no license plates, police said.

Here is police information related to thefts and burglaries in three other instances:

• An officer saw a gray Ford Escape that matched the description of the car used in ruse burglaries in the area. When the officer attempted to stop the car about 5 p.m. Aug. 19, the driver sped away, last seen headed north on Interstate 294.
• A 2019 Ford pickup truck in the 15W100 block of 60th Street was burglarized about 3:30 a.m. Aug. 17. Video showed two men entering the truck. A garage door opener and knife were stolen. The report did not say whether the truck was locked.
• A toy Caterpillar dump truck worth $400 and a Little Tykes toy car were stolen the afternoon of Aug. 20 from a front yard in the 15W600 block of 81st Street.
