Burr Ridge Mansion of Former Blago Fundraiser Sold at Foreclosure

The mansion owned by Christopher Kelly went for $1.6 million at foreclosure sale.

The Burr Ridge mansion of ousted Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s former chief political fundraiser, Christopher Kelly, sold for $1.6 million in a foreclosure sale late last month, Chicago Magazine reports.

The home, located at 702 Ambriance Dr., is a 5 bedroom, 5,859 square foot “masterpiece” with a wine cellar and theater and exercise room, according to Aol Real Estate. The Kellys originally bought the home for $2.96 million in 2005. Kelly defaulted on the $2.1 million mortgage four years later, according to Chicago Magazine.

Kelly, who committed suicide in 2009, was facing years in prison for fraud and was due to go on trial for corruption along with Blagojevich. He was not living in the Burr Ridge home at the time of his death.
