Burr Ridge Police Official Arrested

He was suspended without pay after being charged in another state.

BURR RIDGE, IL – A Burr Ridge police official who is accused of drunken driving out of state was suspended without pay for 40 duty days, according to the local police department.

Deputy Police Chief Ryan Husarik is currently serving the suspension, Police Chief John Madden said in an email to Patch late last week.

In Virginia, Husarik, a Lemont resident, faces a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated. He also was charged with a civil violation of refusing a blood or breath test.

Husarik was arrested April 15 in Prince William County, which is in the Washington suburbs, according to court records.

The matter is pending in Prince William General District Court.

Burr Ridge police conducted an internal investigation of the Virginia incident, which resulted in the suspension, Madden said.

Husarik is serving a 48-month probationary and monitoring period with the department, Madden said.

Husarik was promoted to deputy chief in 2022. He has been with the department for about two decades.

He did not return messages for comment left on his department email and phone.
