Burr Ridge Project May Draw Some Opposition
The developer wants bigger garages on most of the homes. A trustee says the proposal would make the subdivision too dense.

BURR RIDGE, IL – The Burr Ridge Village Board plans to take another look at a housing development Monday, but two trustees indicated in May they would oppose it.
The developer, Anthony Perino of Jarper Properties, is proposing the eight-lot Cottages of Drew subdivision. It would be on the southwest corner of Drew Avenue and 79th Street.
He is asking for three-car garages for six of the eight houses. Under the 2018 village-approved plan, they were all set for two-car garages.

The Plan Commission approved the development in the spring. But the Village Board sent it back to the commission in May after a resident alleged that a commission member had a conflict of interest.
The commission considered the development again and approved it. Among other things, the commission recommended the developer be required to increase stormwater storage to 25 percent above the local code.

At the Village Board's meeting in May, Trustee Guy Franzese said he could not support any change to the development "in any way, shape or form."
He said he believed the latest proposal made the subdivision too dense.
"I don't want to waste the Plan Commission's time," Franzese said.
Trustee Joe Snyder agreed.
