Burr Ridge Squirt Gun War Draws Police Attention

BURR RIDGE, IL — Squirt guns are for fun, as long as you don't squirt a stranger. A youth broke that rule Aug. 18 in Burr Ridge.

About 8 p.m., police received a call from a woman who was pulled over talking to a friend in the 8400 block of Clynderven Road when someone from the back seat of a Lexus squirted her with water from a squirt gun, according to a police report. At Stevens Park, police found two people with large squirt guns in their car. They said it was their friend who squirted the woman, thinking it was one of their friends' cars. They were "very apologetic," the report said.

An officer spoke with the woman, who said she was satisfied with the apologies.
