Burr Ridge Woman Complains About Fountain: Police

Resident says humidity from the fountain increases chances for getting the coronavirus, report says.

BURR RIDGE, IL — A Burr Ridge resident called police last week to say she was upset about her neighbor's fountain, which she believed was increasing the humidity in her yard, Burr Ridge police said. She believed the humidity would increase her chances of being infected with the coronavirus, according to a police report.

The resident who called police lives in the 8100 block of Park Avenue. The resident with the fountain is in the 15W200 block of 81st Street. Police informed the resident that it was not against city or state law for people to have fountains in their yards.

Some studies indicate that, if anything, humidity would slow down the spread of the virus. Others say not enough evidence is available yet.
