An exciting contest between the Cardinals and Redskins ended Monday night with the Red Birds on top 15-14, raising their standings in the 9 to 12-year-old Falcon North Division.
The Redskins opened the game with a nine play, 61-yard drive that had them poised to score. The tenth play, however, did end with a score for the Redskins. Sam Hojnar of the Cardinals intercepted the pass in the endzone and returned it the distance for the Cardinals first touchdown and an 8-0 lead.
Maintaining their composure, the Redskins battled back and gained the lead with two consecutive touchdowns. Jack Metcalf caught a 16-yard touch pass and Ryan Bergstrom added a 24-yard touchdown run flipping the score in favor of the Redskins 14-8.
