Cars Broken Into At Lifetime: Burr Ridge Cops
The suspect apparently gained entry by breaking the cars' windows late in the morning of Jan. 18.
BURR RIDGE, IL — The passenger windows of two cars parked at Lifetime Athletic were broken and wallets were stolen late in the morning on Jan. 18, police said in a report. In one case, a wallet from the center console of a 2014 Mercedes was removed, police said. The owner received an alert that his credit card was used for a fraudulent transaction at Mariano's in Western Springs.
In the other case, a 2015 Toyota was burglarized and a woman's wallet was stolen, according to the report. Here's other information from the Burr Ridge police blotter from Jan. 14 to Jan. 19:
- A group of tennis players refused to leave the Five Seasons Family Sports Club, 6901 S. Madison St., about 10:20 p.m. Jan. 15. An employee then called police. The players said they had a contract allowing them to stay until 10:30 p.m. An officer suggested the players leave because of the employee's request and follow up with management in the morning. The players agreed and left without any problems.
- A 2000 Mercedes Benz was stolen between 8 p.m. Jan. 13 and 7 a.m. Jan. 14 from a driveway on 94th Street. The theft was reported about 7:30 a.m. Jan. 14. A little more than three hours later, a DuPage County deputy recovered the Mercedes on Alabama Avenue. He had responded to the area for a call about a suspicious car.
- A hit-and-run accident was reported at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at Lifetime Athletic, 601 Burr Ridge Parkway. The owner of a 2018 Tesla said the side bumper near the rear wheel of the car was struck between 7:30 a.m. and noon while it was in the parking lot. An officer checked the surveillance footage and determined no accident had taken place at Lifetime Athletic.
- A resident on 59th Street was worried that nearby horses were left outside in the cold about 7 p.m. Jan. 18. An officer found the horses had access to the inside of a barn and that they were wearing blankets.
