Chandra Crittenden-Carter joins King-Bruwaert House as HR manager

Chandra “Shawn” Crittenden-Carter has been named Human Resources Manager at King-Bruwaert House (KBH) in Burr Ridge. In her new capacity, Crittenden-Carter will oversee a full range of responsibilities including recruiting and hiring; implementing the organizational mission and core values; reviewing and administering employee benefits and compensation programs; annual training and new hire orientation; and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local agencies, including the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Occupational, Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Crittenden-Carter has extensive Human Resources background including management roles in the senior healthcare industry. Prior to joining KBH, she served as Human Resources Manager for AbleHearts, a long-term care and rehabilitation facility in Joliet. Among her duties, she generated a weekly Applicant Tracking report to analyze recruitment and staffing trends for the facility. She also served as Human Resources Manager for Addolorata Villa, a long-term care senior living community in Wheeling, and Belmont Village of Oak Park. In both positions, she implemented practical and useful operational policies across all facets of Human Resources including talent acquisition and complete lifecycle of employment processes, employee relations focusing on increased employee satisfaction, learning and development strategies for all management levels, and overseeing comprehensive benefits programs.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bradley University and is currently pursuing her Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification. Crittenden-Carter has been a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) since 2004. She has also received an award relating to in-service and training programs and was recognized as a final nominee for a “Customers First” award from Belmont Communities.

Crittenden-Carter and her husband live in the western suburbs with their two young adult children.
