Closet Cash Stolen, Suspicious People: Burr Ridge Cops
A resident reports $9,000 was stolen from a closet sometime since February, police say.
BURR RIDGE, IL — The Burr Ridge Police Department released its latest blotter, which included many reports about people deemed as suspicious. Here is information from the reports:
Theft/Fraud
- About $9,000 in cash was stolen from a bedroom closet between Feb. 1 and June 2 in the 8500 block of Johnston Road.
- A man attempted to open a checking account at Busey Bank, 7020 County Line Road, using a fake identification. He then sped away in a 2020 Chevrolet.
- An officer was on patrol shortly before midnight June 3 in the 300 block of South Frontage Road when the manager of Crowne Plaza hotel flagged down the officer about a man trying to use a fraudulent credit card.

- McDonald's, 9101 Route 83, informed police about 5:30 p.m. June 3 that a woman was loitering in the front of the restaurant. An officer found the woman near Honeysuckle and Route 83. She said she did not help and refused to talk to the police, saying they were corrupt. She continued walking.
- A caller told the police about 11 a.m. June 2 that a suspicious person in a green jumpsuit was standing by a utility pole near County Line Road and 87th Street. Police were unable to find the person.
- A resident in the 15W200 block of 60th Street informed police about 5 p.m. June 3 that youths were seen on the roof of Elm School. An officer could not find anyone on the roof.
- Police received a call that a black SUV with tinted windows was driving slowly through the neighborhood that includes the 8100 block of Greenbriar Court at 9 p.m. June 2. Officers were unable to find the SUV.
- A woman informed police about 1:30 p.m. June 3 that she witnessed a 19- to 20-year-old man wearing a blue button-down shirt urinate near the 81st Street path in the area of the 8100 block of Ridgepointe Drive. Police could not find the man.
- Police received a call from a business in the 100 block of Burr Ridge Parkway that four men were in an older model Ford Explorer roaming around a shopping center about 2:30 p.m. June 2. The caller thought it was odd.
Found property
- A jogger found a pink purse containing three wallets and medication June 4 near German Church Road and Bridle Path. The purse had been gone through and did not contain any cash. An officer called a relative of the owner, who said she would have the owner pick it up.
- A resident in the 7700 block of Hamilton Avenue informed police June 4 he had found an abandoned girl's 21-speed bicycle in his yard. It was a gray and purple Genesis Whirlwind bicycle. An officer placed the bike in property control.

- An officer euthanized an injured raccoon by shooting it about 4 p.m. June 2.
- Two officers warned a representative of Proactive Pest Management, saying the person was soliciting without a permit. The warning happened at 4:30 p.m. June 3 in the 7300 block of Park Avenue.
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 12:30 a.m. June 4 in the 6900 block of Fieldstone Drive. Both parties said they had been in a dispute about marital issues.
