Coronavirus: Mask Issue Draws Burr Ridge Police
Police get a complaint that a restaurant's employees were not wearing masks and gloves.
BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police received a call April 9 about a restaurant's employees not wearing masks and gloves when they were serving food, which most restaurants are requiring these days because of the coronavirus, police said. An officer showed up at McDonald's, 9101 Route 83, in response to the call and saw one employee was wearing protective gear while another was not, according to a police report. The officer told the manager about the complaint and reminded him that although it was not required, it was suggested that employees wear masks and gloves.
The officer provided the restaurant with paperwork from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The manager said he would talk to his employees about wearing masks and gloves, the report said.
The same day, Burr Ridge police were called to another eatery about employees not wearing masks and gloves. But when an officer showed up, they were wearing the protective gear, according to a police report.
