Coyote Hybrid Seen In Burr Ridge: Village
The animal, called a "coywolf," is about 55 pounds heavier than the typical coyote, police said.

BURR RIDGE, IL – A coyote hybrid known as a "coywolf" was seen Friday afternoon in Burr Ridge, police announced.
The animal is about 55 pounds heavier than a typical coyote, having elongated legs, a more pronounced jaw, smaller ears and a bushier tail, the village said.
The coywolf was spotted near 83rd Street and County Line Road, according to a village statement.

Under low light conditions, the animal may be mistaken for a German shepherd or a similar breed, the village said.
Police urged residents not to approach the coywolf.
