The Tribune reported teachers who registered for the institute day will either lose their registration fees or the district will need to hire substitute teachers to take over for the day.

Superintendent Bruce Law sent an email reminder that school will also be in session Feb. 16 to compensate for the Jan. 8 school closure.

He wrote that students will finish the school year on June 5, as scheduled, as long as there are no more emergency school closures.

“As you know, it is so important for students to have as much time in the classroom as possible before the critical testing sessions begin,” Law wrote. “We appreciate your support in our efforts to maintain educational excellence for our students.”
