Dog Issue, Neighbor Complaints: Burr Ridge Cops

BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent weeks, Burr Ridge officers have dealt with a dog issue, a solicitor without a permit, neighbor complaints and boys bothering a horse, among other issues. Here is information from the latest reports:

Soliciting without permit

• Eric M. Perto was cited about 2 p.m. Sept. 10 on a charge of soliciting without a permit. He said he worked for Matrix Exteriors and was going door to door speaking with residents about fixing hail-damaged roofs. An officer advised Perto to tell his boss, John McCarthy, and other employees they cannot solicit without a permit. Perto left the area.

Dog issue

• A man was walking on Park Avenue about 6:30 p.m. Sept. 4 when a dog ran toward him in the front yard, causing him to fall. He declined medical treatment. The people with the dog, Bruce, said they were dog-sitting and that Bruce never left the property.

Neighbor complaints

• A resident in the 8000 block of Garfield Avenue informed police the night of Sept. 5 that her neighbor was burning incense. She was told to call her homeowners association. She declined an ambulance when she said the smell of the incense was bothering her. The woman has called many times about the incense, which various officers have reported they cannot detect.
• Police received a complaint about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 15 regarding a man singing on a public address system at the village's Concerts on the Green on Village Center Drive. An officer saw a small event being put on by the Burr Ridge Park District. The village approved the event, which was to end at 11 p.m.
• A crew was working about 6:30 a.m. Sept. 11 on Deer Path Trail. A neighbor complained. After an officer arrived, vehicles were moved that were blocking driveways. The officer informed the crew about acceptable work hours in Burr Ridge. The foreman said the crew would comply.
• Police received a call about 9 a.m. Sept. 13 about Johnny and Bros. Landscaping Co. working outside the hours under village ordinance. An officer told the company to come back later.
• After police got a call about fireworks at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 4, a person in the 8600 block of Meadowbrook Drive admitted to shooting off one from his driveway. The person said it would not happen again.

Motorcyclists

• Five men on Ninja motorcycles were seen getting close to cars, speeding, and weaving in and out of traffic about 2 p.m. Sept. 13 on Route 83 near 91st Street.

Odds and ends

• Four teenagers took a Travis Scott poster about 6 p.m. Sept. 12 from an interior window at McDonald's, 9101 Route 83. Scott is a rapper.
• Surveillance footage showed that boys came into the barn at the Hanson Center Riding Arena to try to scare one of the horses. It happened the night of Sept. 13.
• A resident on Old Mill Lane said she received a message on her home landline from a friend Sept. 15, then she heard a man talking. Her friend does not live with any men. She called later and found her friend was fine and that she must not have hung up her phone. Her friend had been watching a murder mystery.
