Domestic Dispute, Suspicious People: Burr Ridge Police

Woman at hotel finds that her baby's father is with another woman elsewhere in the building, report says.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police responded to a domestic disturbance late the afternoon of Aug 21 at SpringHill Suites, 15W090 N. Frontage Road.

According to a police report, a woman said she got into an argument with her baby's father, who was staying in another room with another woman. The baby's mother claimed that the father had taken her wallet, but returned it before police arrived, police said.

Neighbor disputes

  • A caller told police Aug. 19 that a resident in the 11400 block of Woodglen Lane had a camper parked for a month, a violation of a village ordinance. The resident said the camper had been there for three days because the storage lot was being repaved. He said the lot would be completed that day. On Aug. 20, the caller reported to police again that the camper was still at the house. The owner said it would be removed that day after the storage lot was finished.
  • A resident in the 11400 block of Burr Oak Lane informed police Aug. 24 that a trailer had been parked in a driveway on the street for months. The information was passed to the owner, who was aware of the ordinance violation.
  • Police received a complaint about loud music shortly before 10 p.m. at County Wine Merchant, 450 Village Center Drive. An officer spoke with the bartender, who said she would turn down the music.
  • Police received a complaint shortly after midnight Aug. 25 in the 7900 block of Garfield Avenue about loud mechanical noise. Two officers dropped by, but did not hear it.

DUI

  • Nathan K. Crosby, 34, was arrested about 10 a.m. Aug. 19 on charges of DUI and possession of a controlled substance. A passenger, Lee K. Crosby, 33, was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail. They were arrested after property damage accident.

Suspicious people

  • A resident on Rucci Court informed police that a woman came to her house about 5 p.m. Aug. 19 to say she needed money for her sick daughter. The woman left in a silver Toyota Prius after the resident closed the door.
  • A resident in the 16W300 block of 95th Place told police that three people were walking in the area and looking into cars about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 26. Then they tried to hide by the resident's home. The resident offered surveillance video of the people.

Damage

  • Eight mailboxes were damaged overnight Aug. 22 in the 6000 and 6100 blocks of Woodcreek Drive and 5900 through 6100 blocks of Grant Street.
  • A resident in the 6100 block of Elm Street told police Aug. 25 that someone hit the utility pole at the end of her driveway. The pole was separated at the bottom, but still standing. ComEd was notified. The woman said some technicians were by earlier in the day and that she did not know if they caused the damage.

Fishing issues

  • A caller complained that three youths were fishing Aug. 18 near Fieldstone Drive. The officer did not see any "no fishing" signs.
  • A caller told police that people were fishing at the lake off of Buege Lane about 2:30 p.m. Aug. 19. "No fishing" signs are posted. The people left without any problems.
  • An officer told a person Aug. 22 that he could not fish at the pond near Dougshire Court because it was private property. Signs are posted.

Social distancing

  • Two officers visited Hampton Social, 705 Village Center Drive, on Aug. 17 and told the general manager they had received complaints about social distancing and mask violations. The manager said he was aware of the complaints and that the business was now in compliance.

Other

  • An officer used his gun to euthanize an injured coyote about 1 p.m. Aug. 18 in the 7900 block of Garfield Avenue. The officer and another one placed the coyote in a trash bag and put it in the dumpster.
  • Two callers told police Aug. 17 about an elderly man carrying a 6-foot wooden cross on the County Line Road bridge over Interstate 55. The callers were afraid the man would be hit or he would drop the cross on the highway.
  • The manager at McDonald's, 9101 Route 83, wanted a person off the property Aug. 21. The person was being verbally abusive to someone else.
  • Paramedics were called about 3 p.m. Aug. 20 to a house in the 5900 block of Elm Street. A landscaper passed out in the front lawn because of possible heat exhaustion. The person was taken to the Hinsdale hospital.
