Minor Electrical Fire Damages Basement, First Floor of Home

Smoke from a small electrical fire damaged the basement and first floor of a home located at 8544 Timber Ridge Dr. today calling on crews from about 15 fire departments, according to Tri-State Fire Protection District Fire Chief Michelle Gibson.

Tri-State responded to the fire at 5:52 p.m. after the owners of the home heard a loud pop from an electrical panel attached to the exterior wall of the home. Smoke traveled from the panel into the home and inside the walls and ceiling, said Gibson.

Crews took down parts of the basement interior to eliminate the risk of a fire breaking out inside the walls.

No one was hurt in the incident.
