Face Mask Dispute, Domestic Violence: Burr Ridge Cops

Woman reports domestic battery on County Line Road, but asks police not to inform suspect, report says.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police responded to a variety of incidents in recent days, including a disturbance over face masks and a domestic violence incident. Here is information from the latest blotter:

  • A disturbance was reported at Pain Specialists of Greater Chicago, 7055 High Grove Blvd., on March 26 because a patient expressed concern to the staff about not having face masks for patients. The patient was allowed to continue with his appointment. No further trouble was reported.
  • A woman in the 8100 block of County Line Road reported March 28 that her on-again, off-again boyfriend tackled her to the ground during an argument, causing minor injuries. She was vigilant about the police not contacting the man and only wanted the incident documented.
  • A resident in the 10 block of Deer Path Trail reported that a black male teen wearing a Bulls jacket was walking up his driveway about 7 p.m. March 29. When the teen saw the resident in the window, he turned and ran to a Chevrolet Malibu, which sped northbound on Deer Path. Officers could not find the teen.
  • A resident called about 11:30 a.m. March 29 expressing concern that the tent used for coronavirus testing at Metro Infectious Disease Consultants, 901 McClintock Drive, was going to blow away. An officer found the tent secured to large cement blocks and spiked to the ground.
  • High winds snapped a tree about 3 p.m. March 29 at Madison Street and Provencal Drive, striking a gate house and damaging the roof and gutter.
  • A resident in the 8400 block of Arrowhead Farm Drive reported about 4 a.m. March 28 that he could see someone on his surveillance camera attempting to enter his car in the driveway. When officers arrived, they saw a Ford with Texas license plates speeding away from the neighborhood. The car was stolen in Lockport. When an officer tried to stop the suspect on northbound Interstate 55 north of County Line Road, the driver sped off.
  • A resident in the 8700 block of Johnston Road called police about children riding on dirt bikes on the road about 10:30 a.m. March 27. The children said they were riding the bikes around their property. They said they would go in for the day.
  • An officer saw two people using swings about 1:30 p.m. March 27 on the playground at a park in the Lakeside Pointe subdivision in the 7200 block of Lakeside Circle. The officer informed the people of the governor's stay-at-home order. The people willingly left.
  • Police received a call about 13 cars and several people near a pond with balloons about 5 p.m. March 27 in the 6900 block of High Grove Boulevard. Officers arrived a short time later and found no cars, people or balloons.
  • A disturbance was reported about 9 p.m. March 27 at McDonald's, 9101 Route 83. A caller said two people were dragging another into a car. The people told an officer they were friends and "just messing around." One of them was intoxicated and said his friends dragged him into the car to stop him from walking onto Route 83. One of them called for a ride from his father.
  • The desk clerk at Marriott, 1200 Burr Ridge Parkway, saw a man wandering around the lobby about 7:30 a.m. March 28. When officers arrived, the man was lost and "very" intoxicated. Police were able to determine the man was staying in a room with someone else at Marriott. He went to his room to sleep.
  • A person at SAIA LTL Freight, 15W460 N. Frontage Road, was carrying a propane tank to his forklift when another forklift driver backed up and hit the propane tank the first person was holding at noon March 27. This caused the first person a lot of pain, so he was taken to the hospital in Hinsdale.
  • A break-in was reported in the storage area underneath the press box March 26 at Walker Park. The security door was damaged.
