Cop Injured When Mail Truck Rear Ends Squad Car

BURR RIDGE, IL - Three people, including a Burr Ridge police officer, were hospitalized Monday night after a crash at the corner of 80th and Madison in Burr Ridge.

Burr Ridge police say the officer was in a marked unit stopped and waiting for a car to turn when she was rear-ended by a United States Postal Truck at 5:31 p.m. The truck was then rear-ended by another car.

The officer and mail truck driver were taken to Hinsdale Hospital and the driver of the other car was taken to La Grange Hospital.

Illinois State Police handled the investigation. No one was charged in the incident.
