BURR RIDGE, IL – A fire caused extensive damage to the attic of a two-story house in Burr Ridge on Tuesday afternoon, the local fire district said.

Firefighters got the call about the fire at 7350 Forest Hill Road shortly after 2 p.m., according to the Pleasantview Fire district.

Firefighters brought the district's two ladder trucks to the fire. But because of power lines on two sides, they were unable to use the equipment, the chief said. That inability did not hamper firefighting efforts, he said.

Pleasantview was assisted by numerous departments.
