Barbara Eberhard from Gallery Seven has been curating this show.

“This exhibit is very exciting as artists from across Illinois are participating. The mediums are as varied as where the artists come from. Oils, pastels, photography, sculpture…the work is incredible.”

Locally, Charlotte Cziperle from Burr Ridge is exhibiting her work Lake Marmo II as part of “The Art of Illinois.” “My inspiration comes from nature. Illinois nature preserves provide me with 4 seasons of color, texture, and give me a serene sense of place. Lake Marmo is a pristine lake on the west side of the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL. It is a meditative spot for visitors with sitting benches along the shoreline. It is not unusual to see a turtle on a log or a crane looking for fish. The beautiful change of color during the spring and fall attracts me and I find myself creating several plein air paintings of Lake Marmo. Fall is my favorite that is when nature puts on its final splash of color before winter’s rest.”

Come out on November 5th to support these incredible artists of Illinois.

Gallery Seven is managed by a group of local artists, located at 116 N. Chicago St., Suite 102, next to the Historic Rialto Square Theatre, downtown Joliet. This free gallery is open to the public 10-4, Monday to Friday, and 10-noon the first Saturday of the Month. All exhibited work at Gallery Seven is for sale.
