Half Eaten Sandwiches A Mystery: Burr Ridge Cops
Resident twice finds half eaten chicken sandwiches in her mailbox, police say.
BURR RIDGE, IL — A Burr Ridge resident in the 8100 block of Woodside Lane told police that someone left a half eaten chicken sandwich in her mailbox between noon Tuesday and 11 a.m. Wednesday. This was the second time this has happened. The first time was April 3.
The woman said she did not know who was doing it and that she would install an exterior camera to deter any more such incidents.

- DuPage County Sheriff's Deputy Matthew Brewer backed his squad car into a 2019 Ford driven by a woman about 7 p.m. April 7 at 11S401 Rachael Court.
- An officer found two people playing basketball about 5:30 p.m. April 5 at Stevens Park, 8555 Walredon Ave. The officer told them about social distancing, and they decided to leave the court.
- Officers saw a woman walking north on Madison Street from 94th Street at 1 p.m. April 3. The woman did not wish to speak to the officers. She then yelled at one of the officers to stop following her. The officers were unable to determine whether she was under the influence of alcohol.
- A resident informed police that the door of a neighboring apartment in the 1000 block of Village Center Drive was ajar about 8:30 a.m. April 3. When an officer knocked, a woman answering said she sometimes leaves the door ajar to fee safe, just in case she had to leave in a hurry.
- An officer found a purple Mongoose Lark girl's bicycle shortly before 7 p.m. April 5 at 79th Street and Bucktrail Drive.
- A resident reported seeing several Styrofoam containers at 1 p.m. April 5 near 83rd and Madison streets. Officers saw about 20 empty containers that were labeled as containing salmon and were addressed to a local company. They appeared to have been blown by the wind from the property. An officer sent an email to the business asking it to better secure its garbage.
- A woman said she had an argument with a younger relative about 11 a.m. April 6 at her house in the 8400 block of Canterbury Drive. She requested help in having him leave her house. He left without any issues.
- A man admitted April 6 to an officer to stealing a bicycle on Madison Street. He said he thought it was left out for trash.
