"I love interacting with children, and being able to make a major difference in their lives," Dr.
Fishman said. "If a child is verbal, I try to engage and talk to them as well as their parents."

Conditions Dr. Fishman treats in adults include carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, distal radius (wrist)
fractures and trauma. Dr. Fishman also performs nerve transfers and nerve bypasses to treat injuries to the brachial plexus (the group of nerves that extend down the arm).

"I try to provide as much information as possible, without overloading a patient," Dr. Fishman said.
"It's a partnership, and during my visits with patients, I try to take enough time to hear what they are saying and to be thorough in my explanations."

Dr. Fishman earned a medical degree from New York Medical College. She completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Duke University School of Medicine and fellowships in hand and upper
extremity surgery at the University of Minnesota and pediatric upper extremity surgery at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
