Preissig said the overall plan was to resurface streets every 20 years. But he said the village can extend the life of streets through methods such as crack sealing.
Preissig's presentation to the Village Board noted that Burr Ridge avoids a "worst first" strategy in prioritizing which roads are resurfaced. A number of websites analyze the pros and cons of "worst first."
For 2024, the village plans to resurface streets in the Cambridge Estates, Arrowhead Farm and Forest Edge subdivisions. It also aims to resurface 83rd Street from South Frontage to County Line roads.
