Illinois House of Representatives adopts resolutions to honor athletes.

Submitted by Hinsdale Township High School District 86.
Hinsdale Township High School District 86 today announced that members of all the Hinsdale Central IHSA State Championship teams have been invited to the Illinois House of Representatives to be present for the adoption of House Resolutions 1211, 1328, 1329, 1330, 1331 and 1332. The resolutions are all sponsored by Representative Patti Bellock.
HR1211 was introduced this summer to honor the Hinsdale Central Boys’ Tennis Team for its remarkable record as well as its three consecutive State wins. During this fall’s athletic season, Hinsdale Central won five State tournaments, an IHSA record. After each win, Rep. Bellock graciously extended the invitation to include all the winning teams from the spring and fall: Boys’ soccer, cross country and golf, girls’ tennis and golf.
In addition to HR1211, the additional House Resolutions for the fall sports teams are as follows:
- HR1328 honors the Hinsdale Central Girls’ Golf Team for its state win
- HR1329 honors the Hinsdale Central Boys’ Golf Team for three consecutive State wins
- HR1330 honors the Hinsdale Central Girls’ Tennis Team for two consecutive State wins
- HR1331 honors the Hinsdale Central Boys’ Cross Country Team for two consecutive State wins
- HR1332 honors the Hinsdale Central Boys’ Soccer Team for its State win
The student athletes and coaches will attend the event in Springfield on Thursday, November 20. They will meet with Rep. Bellock, tour the State Capitol before the House convenes and then attend the adoption of all the House Resolutions in the chamber of the Illinois House of Representatives. The group is also planning to visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum before returning to Hinsdale later that evening.
Hinsdale Central Athletic Director Dan Jones, Principal Mark Kolkman and District 86 Superintendent Dr. Bruce Law will also be in attendance for this historic event.
