Hinsdale Central Student's Work Selected for Youth Art Month
The piece will be displayed in Washington D.C. and New Orleans.

One of the works by Hinsdale Central High School student Allison Greager has been chosen by the Illinois Art Education Association (IAEA) as a winner for this year’s Youth Art Month competition. The theme for the 2015 annual statewide art competition is “Illinois’ Eyes Are on Art!”

Greg Petecki, the coordinator for the IAEA’s Youth Art Month and art teacher from Homewood-Flossmoor High School, noted that this year there were over 75 submissions and the works were judged by a panel of art teachers, community members and students.

Of the 75 submissions, 15 finalists were selected to have their work displayed on the poster titled “Mosaic.” The poster will be displayed during the month of March in Washington D.C. to support the arts. A flag created from the poster design will be displayed at the National Art Education Association’s national conference to be held in New Orleans also in March.
