Hinsdale Police Reports: Property Damage, Identity Theft, Hit-and-Run
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through April 7.

Some children knocked down a section of fence belonging to a neighbor March 26 in the 10 block of South Bodin, according to Hinsdale police.
Someone reported damage to a rear door on his house that happened March 24 in the 100 block of South Monroe Street, according to Hinsdale police.

Someone in a gold SUV sideswiped a parked car March 27 and left the scene in the 10 block of East First Street, according to Hinsdale police.
Police assisted the fire department March 28 for a garbage can on fire in the 700 block of East Walnut Street, Pierce Park. The fire was extinguished and the damage was contained to the village-owned garbage can.

Someone stole a traffic sign and post between March 11 and March 30 from a T-intersection at Washington and Ayres, according to Hinsdale police. The value of the sign is $162
Someone used a victim’s information between to open an account with a utility company, according to Hinsdale police. The victim received a bill for $105.98.
Someone stole a mountain bike April 5 from an alleyway in the 400 block of South Washington Street, according to Hinsdale police. The bike was valued at $250, and the bike’s owner told police he saw scrappers in the area around the time it was stolen.
A 17-year-old male juvenile was arrested April 3 for criminal damage to property, according to Hinsdale police. Police saw the juvenile throw an incendiary device at a house in the 300 block of West Hickory Street, and a car was damaged in the driveway. The juvenile was charged and released to a parent.
Someone tried to file a tax return March 31 using a victim’s information, according to Hinsdale police.
Someone in a black car hit a semi-truck April 7 and left the scene at 55th and Garfield, according to Hinsdale police.
