Indian Prairie Library Hosts PopCon

BURR RIDGE, IL — The Indian Prairie Public Library will host the IPPL PopCon on Saturday, May 5. The celebration of pop culture will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on the second floor of the library. The event will feature free comic giveaways, crafts, cartoons, STEAM activities and an escape room, the library said. The event is sponsored by the Sadowski family.

Activities include:

For all ages:

• Free comic giveaways (limit 2 per person)
• Classic cartoon showings
• Perler bead crafts
• Button making
• Scavenger Hunt
• Selfie Station

For kids

• Avengers Academy
• Make Iron Man power cores with LEDs (Ages 8-18) - Registration required in-person day of the con. Limit 20 people per session.
• Save the Superhero building challenge

For teens

• Escape Room - Registration required in-person day of the con. Limit 6 per each 30-minute session.

For adults

• Comic Coasters
• Escape Room - Registration required in-person day of the con. Limit 6 per each 30-minute session
