'Jerking Neck,' Sick Skunk: Burr Ridge Cops

Police also respond to egg-throwing boys and an armored truck collision.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police responded to calls about a woman with a "jerking neck" and a sick skunk in the last week. Here is the information from the police department's latest blotter:

  • Police received a call about a woman with a "jerking neck" walking west on 91st Street toward Walgreens about 5 p.m. Feb. 19. The caller suggested police check on the woman's well-being. Police could not find the woman or anyone in need of assistance.
  • An officer responded to a report of a sick skunk about noon Feb. 20 on 94th Place. The officer considered it an unsafe area to use his gun to euthanize the animal. Instead, a neighbor used his air rifle.
  • A 2019 Toyota RAV4 was struck by an unknown vehicle between Feb. 19 and 22 in the 700 block of McClintock Drive.
  • A resident in the 1100 block of Briarwood Court reported that a group of boys threw an egg at his window about 10 p.m. Feb. 22. An officer found the five boys responsible in the 8000 block of Shag Bark Lane. The report doesn't indicate what happened to the boys.
  • A resident on Hidden Lake Drive reported damage to the windshield and body of his blue 1997 Jaguar on Feb. 23. The suspect may have used a large rock to damage the car.
  • Antonio Sanchez, 43, was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Feb. 24 on charges of driving with a suspended license, disobeying a stop sign and improper lane usage at Madison and 79th streets. His 2008 BMW was towed.
  • Eduardo Baez, 22, who was driving a 2005 BMW, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 19 at County Line Road and Interstate 55 on a charge of no valid driver's license.
  • Police responded to a truck driver who said he only received a part of his paycheck. The business owner explained the deductions. The driver was advised to take the issue to small claims court. The incident happened Feb. 19 on South Frontage Road.
  • The driver of an armored truck backed up and struck another armored truck about 11:30 a.m. Feb. 19 at Loomis Armored US, 8040 Madison St.
  • A woman traveling south on County Line Road struck a car driven by a man stopped at the traffic light at Veterans Boulevard about 2 p.m. Feb. 19. That caused the man's car to hit the one in front of his, driven by a woman.
  • A person turned in a men's black leather wallet that he found Feb. 19 in front of Taste of India restaurant in Willowbrook. The police returned the wallet to the owner.
  • A resident called police to say he viewed footage from his surveillance cameras remotely and saw a woman in a silver Mustang in his driveway about 1:30 p.m. Feb. 20. The officer determined it was the woman who had been identified as distributing political signs in the area. The resident said he had not ordered any signs.
  • A woman reported the driver of a 1996 Mercury sedan had backed into a parking space Feb. 20 near the entrance of St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Church, 455 79th St. When she stopped near the car to send a text, the driver appeared upset, leaving the parking lot and giving her the finger. The driver went west on 79th Street.
