BURR RIDGE, IL – Burr Ridge trustees on Monday approved a mayor-appointed ad hoc committee to gather feedback on the development of the CNH Industrial site.

"This is the biggest piece of property that we're ever going to develop in the village that's left," Grasso said.

Grasso said the committee would be 11 members, including two trustees. Trustee Guy Franzese volunteered to serve.

The mayor also said he would like Greg Trzupek, chairman of the Plan Commission, to join the committee.

Trzupek lives in the Fieldstone neighborhood, which is next to the CNH site. Residents there have protested the possibility of a Costco on the 110-acre site, which a prospective developer is considering.

Grasso said he and other village officials have met with Fieldstone residents and taken their calls.

He noted the village has developed similar committees before, such as the one for the old TCF Bank site, which has yet to be redeveloped.

Officials said the new committee's meetings would be subject to the state's open meetings law.
