Long Shower An Issue At Lifetime: Burr Ridge Cops

A disturbance happens after a fitness center member stays in shower well past closing time, police say.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police officers responded to a variety of incidents in recent days, including a disturbance at Lifetime Fitness involving a long-showering member. Other police calls involved a red sweater-wearing dog and a pit bull at Village Center. Here is the latest blotter from the Burr Ridge Police Department:

  • Police were called shortly before 2 a.m. Feb. 1 to Lifetime Fitness, 601 Burr Ridge Parkway, because a member was still showering 45 minutes after the business closed. Employees got into a verbal argument with the member before the member left the business. Lifetime closes at 1 a.m.
  • A stray dog wearing a red sweater was seen by a resident about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 1 near 91st Street and High Grove Boulevard. An officer was unable to find the dog.
  • Police planned to arrest a man wanted on a Cook County warrant about 9 p.m. Feb. 1 in the 9000 block of Turnberry Drive. Officers spoke with the man's wife, who said he left more than a year ago for an unknown location. She said she did not know when he would be back.
  • A woman at Lifetime Fitness, 601 Burr Ridge Parkway, told police someone stole her black Northface coat from the coat rack in the women's locker room about 11:30 a.m. Feb. 2.
  • A resident in the 8600 block of Wedgewood Drive reported that his unlocked 2018 BMW X3 was stolen from his driveway Jan. 30. The theft was reported about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 3.
  • A caller informed police about a pit bull inside a 2011 Kia with an open front passenger window at 5 p.m. Feb. 3 at Wok n Fire at the Village Center. The pit bull was not leaning outside the window or barking when people passed by. The dog appeared calm, controlled and healthy. The caller feared the dog would jump out and attack someone.
  • Alejandro Rosales Zapata, 26, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at Arrowhead Farm Drive and German Church Road on charges of having no valid driver's license and speeding. His Mexican driver's license was expired.
