'Loud Laughing,' Swastika Graffiti: Burr Ridge Police

Resident complains about neighbors having "too much fun" at bonfire, report says.

BURR RIDGE, IL — A resident in the 6800 block of Fieldstone Drive had a noise complaint for Burr Ridge police shortly before midnight Monday: "Loud laughing and too much fun" from people by a bonfire at the neighbor's house, according to a police report.

Officers spoke with the neighbors, who said they would keep the noise down. About an hour later, police received another complaint about noise from the party on Fieldstone. The homeowner said the party was over and everyone was inside.

  • Someone painted a man's genitalia and a swastika July 14 in the middle of the roadway in the 15W300 block of 62nd Street. Public works was asked to remove it.
  • A person at Lifetime Fitness, 601 Burr Ridge Parkway, told police July 12 that he saw a woman scream at a 5-year-old boy and drag him by the hair while in the outdoor pool area.
  • A woman in the 7200 block of Lakeside Circle exchanged words July 13 with someone associated with McNaughton Builders, which is doing work on the vacant lot next door, a report said. The woman believed rocks struck the side of her house from a landscaping machine. There was no damage to the house.
  • An officer witnessed a car leaving the parking lot about 1:30 a.m. July 13 at Marriott, 1200 Burr Ridge Parkway, with someone chasing the vehicle while holding a beer and yelling, "Stop!" It turns out the person wanted his sister to get him cigarettes.
  • A resident in the 7700 block of County Line Road informed police July 14 that people kept coming to her house believing that it was up for auction. It was on an auction website. An officer called the operator of the website, who said the house was listed because of an IT problem. The officer checked the website and found that the local house had been removed.
