Burr Ridge Mayor Notes Mottl's Donations To Village
Trustee Zack Mottl and businessman Borris Powell contribute masks and sanitizer.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Politics took a back seat Monday afternoon when Trustee Zach Mottl and another businessman donated hand sanitizer and masks to the village. It was a gesture that Mayor Gary Grasso, one of Mottl's adversaries on the Village Board, recognized in his daily bulletin on the coronavirus.
Mottl and Borris Powell, a clothing designer, were pictured in a presentation giving the sanitizer and masks to Police Chief John Madden. The contributions, Mottl said, were for Burr Ridge police officers and first responders. The 150 masks were designed and sewn by Powell's company. Mottl said the metal strips used in the masks were donated by Atlas Tool Works, where Mottl is an executive in the family company, "so he can crank out masks ASAP."
"Borris converted his whole fashion shop over to making masks ASAP," Mottl said in a text message. "His sewing team has been working around the clock."
