Milkshake Thrower, Spider-Causing Alarm: Burr Ridge Police

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police responded to a milkshake-throwing driver and a spider-causing alarm in recent days. Here is information from the police department's latest blotter:

• A driver reported that a woman about 30 to 40 years old stopped next to him at a red light at Route 83 and Central Avenue and threw a milkshake at his car about 8 p.m. Dec. 9. He said he got the woman's license plate number, but would not be able to identify her in a lineup. An officer identified milkshake residue on the car. The officer called the registered owner of the suspect car, but the victim decided against filing a complaint. There was no word on the woman's motivation.
• A resident on Surrey Lane placed groceries on top of the stove and the groceries then caught fire about 11 a.m. Dec. 9. The resident tried to put out the fire, but was unsuccessful. A police officer showed up and extinguished the remaining flames.
• Police responded to a burglar alarm about 4:30 a.m. Dec. 10 on Greenbriar Court, but found the house secure. An officer noticed a spider on the hall motion sensor, likely the source of the alarm.
• An unlocked 2018 Chevrolet in the 1100 block of Laurie Lane was burglarized between 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 and 7:15 a.m. Dec. 11. Stolen were a pair of Addidas sneakers and a Home Depot merchandise credit for $84.72.
• An unlocked 2013 Volvo on Laurie Lane was burglarized between 12:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Dec. 11 while it was parked in the driveway. Stolen were a work bag containing a laptop, two pairs of Ray-Ban sunglasses and a stroller.
