Mystery Maserati, Bobcat Battle: Burr Ridge Cops
Women driving slowly in a Maserati appear suspicious to a resident, report says.
BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent days, Burr Ridge police responded to reports of neighbor disputes and suspicious people, among other things. Here is information from the latest reports:
Suspicious
- Two women in a black Maserati were driving slowly about 2:30 p.m. Oct. 8 through the subdivision that includes the 6500 block of Manor Drive. The woman in the passenger's seat was filming on her cellphone. The resident who informed police said he believed the license plate was from Florida. The responding officer said he would keep an eye out for the car.
- Security in the neighborhood of Burr Ridge Club Drive told police Oct. 7 that a man in a 2013 Hyundai showed up saying he was with an appraisal company and needed to take a picture of a house. The man left before police arrived and called police dispatchers while police were on Burr Ridge Club rive. The man said he needed confirmation from the homeowner for security to allow him entry into the subdivision.
- Police were unable to find a man soliciting for American Restoration Contractors about 6 p.m. Oct. 8 in the 1200 block of Laurie Lane.
- A resident in the 7500 block of Drew Avenue called police to say there was a suspicious person in the neighborhood about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 30. The person said he was looking for a co-worker's home and went to the wrong house. The co-worker's spouse confirmed knowing the person.
- A group of teenagers were knocking on windows about 1 a.m. Oct. 3 in the 11700 block of Woodside Court. The next day, a resident in the same area reported that youths smashed pumpkins.

- A resident in the 7200 block of Elm told police about 2:30 p.m. Oct. 11 that the neighbor behind him was making a lot of noise using a Bobcat for outdoor work. The neighbor told an officer he would stop for the day. The officer told the person about construction hours in the village.
- A resident in the 600 block of Kenmare Drive informed police Oct. 6 that a neighbor's dog was outside without a leash again and in his backyard. The resident did not want police to write a ticket, but asked an officer to tell the neighbor that this would be the last warning. The neighbor said she was putting her dog on a leash when the dog ran after a squirrel and got away. She said she would be more careful.
- A resident in the 9500 block of Jackson Street complained about music at a neighbor's house about 3 p.m. Oct. 4. An officer did not hear any music, but spoke with the homeowner in question, who said he would keep down the music until his next party.
- Two officers helped a resident on Drew Avenue determine that his neighbor was not violating the property line Oct. 8. The neighbor was installing a fence near the line.
Dogs
- A 1-year-old German shepard went missing from a yard in the 16W253 94th St. Oct. 6. An officer found "Kizer" and returned the dog to the owner. The owner was cited on a charge of having a dog at large.
- An officer found a black lab Oct. 1 near 79th Street and Garfield Avenue. He returned the dog to a resident on Pine Tree Lane and warned the owner for having a dog at large.
Theft

- An employee of Compass Trucking, 15W580 N. Frontage Road, informed police Oct. 22 that the business has footage of people stealing tires from trucks parked in the lot. He said he would provide a copy of footage to the police department, but did not want to file a report at that time.
- A guest at Extended Stay America, 15W122 S. Frontage Road, told police Oct. 2 that his car was stolen from the parking lot after 11 p.m. the previous night. An officer had the guest call his car's leasing company, which said it had repossessed the car overnight.
Driving issues
- Luke T. Kelly, age and town of residence unavailable, was cited about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 9 on Ridgewood Lane for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding 92 mph in a 45 mph zone.
- Police received a report of a Mustang and a Camaro speeding and racing near Post Road and Stirrup Lane about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 10. The drivers said they were revving their engines, but not speeding. One driver's father said he did not understand why officers were asking them to slow down in the neighborhood.
Damage
- A silver four-door Honda was shot up with pink paintballs by the occupants of a dark gray BMW about 3:30 p.m. Oct. 3 in the 1200 block of Burr Ridge Parkway. The manager thinks they were friends just playing around.
Odds and ends
- A person refused to be taken by paramedics to the hospital after his mouth started bleeding when he was accidentally hit in the face with a basketball about 8 p.m. Oct. 7 at Pleasantdale Park. His friend drove him to the hospital in Hinsdale.
- A woman refused to leave the car of her Uber driver about 4:30 a.m. Oct. 12 in the 8400 block of Meadowbrook Drive. Police convinced the intoxicated woman to leave the car and made sure she safely got inside her house.
- A man informed police at 4 p.m. Oct. 10 that Burr Ridge Club security staff denied him entry into the gated community. That prevented the man from performing his political canvassing duties. The man would not provide the name of the organization that he was working for. He left the area without any more problems.
- A resident in the 16W300 block of 93rd Place told police Sept. 30 that he was in the process of moving out and that his landlord told him she would throw away his belongings and tow his car if he were not gone by Saturday. He said he would be out of town over the weekend, but would have his belongings out by then.
